50,000 Bread Kits Distributed!
50,000 has always been a number to aim for, but, honestly i thought it would take a lot longer.
The kits started as a simple way of getting more people making bread and understanding what actually goes into it, and they’ve since become a big part of the Breaducation work, particularly in schools.
Thousands of children have now used them to make bread, get their hands in some dough and learn a bit more about flour, grain, farming and where their food comes from. Seeing the kits being used in classrooms and as part of school projects has probably been one of the best bits of the whole thing.
So, a huge thank you to all the schools, teachers, organisations, families, our millers and everyone else who has helped distribute them. Getting to 50,000 definitely wouldn’t have happened without you.
There is one slight issue with getting there earlier than expected…
The printed bags have run out.
So unfortunately, the bread kits are going to be unavailable for a few months while the next run is sorted (very sorry!)
The timing does, however, give a good opportunity to make a few changes.
The new kits will have a reformulated flour mix, including wholemeal spelt flour and Wildfarmed flour. It’s something I’ve wanted to introduce for a while and gives us even more to explore around grain, farming and flour through the Breaducation work.
More on that when the new kits are ready.
For now, thank you for helping get the bread kits to 50,000.
Still slightly can’t believe it.
